On this day in 1500, the Amazon River was discovered by Vincent Pizon. The Amazon is the largest river in the world, and an important feature of South America.
Read this poem about the rain forest:
One little squirrel monkey, sitting in a tree.High up in a rainforest, happy as can be.One little squirrel monkey, sad as can be,Watching a bulldozer cutting down his tree.

Can you name these animals who live in the rain forest?
Name the animals, then color the picture.

Look at this website, then answer the following questions:
1. Which river is the longest?
2. Which river is the shortest listed?
