On this day in 1835, Samuel Langhorne Clemens, Mark Twain, was born in Florida, Missouri. During his life he worked as a newspaper reporter, riverboat pilot, and later a writer of fiction.

The frogs in the Calaveras County Frog Jump each jump 3 times, and the jumps are measured together. Freddy the frog's first jump was 6 feet, the second jump was 4 feet, and the third jump was 7 feet. How far did Freddy jump all together?
